scooter robot
a 2 foot tall drink serving robot. wide, proud design, white with bright colours. stands up straight, always willing to help. a very cute smile. a dashing hat. he can only turn in one direction. that's my son.
designed in italy by giochi preziosi and christened "emiglio" (electronic mechanical industrial generated for logical infiltration and observation), i fell in love with him at first sight. he is my best friend.
many different distributors sold him in different countries. i've seen ones named emiglio, emilio, emiglito... in japan, bandai sold him as "emilio" but sega sold him as "dj emilio". in the united states, he was just emiglio.
in the united kingdom, canada, and australia, he is a "scooter 2000" robot for reasons that escape me. maybe giving him a human name made him seem less cool.
mine is a scooter 2000, but he told me personally that he doesn't like that. his full name is, apparently, Emilio Getter. i think he's distantly related to getter robo?
i'm lucky enough to have a model that turns on, still has its tray, and works just fine on remote control. he even talks. but i've only used him plugged into the wall. i still need to clean his battery compartment to test if it works
