i headed back around to my local area, so that i could walk to the jetty, and then along the beach until i could go home. there's a lot of cranes around lately, and i don't care at all about what they're building, but aren't they beautiful beasts?

tall, strong. they dutifully do their jobs, and if you're patient, they might pose for you. model citizens!

a lamb statue outside a restaurant. i wonder if it has a soul. surely it's grown one by now, it seems old enough

i wonder how many people can still read analog clocks. i wonder how many people can still read roman numerals. it's funny, isn't it? when i was little, before i even entered school, i learned how to read a clock just like this one. it belonged to my grandfather. apparently he was an awful man but i don't remember anything about him other than a magic trick he did for me which i was absolutely taken by

this is right at the entrance to the jetty. it's nice to go out there, feel the wind and stare at the water

more excavation, construction, and so on. i love machinery, but what's the point? the town is fine as it is. it's frustrating. but maybe i'm too conservative

we're literally right on the beach. preserve that spirit, why don't you?

the tracks they make are interesting.

views from the jetty. what are the spikes for?

some mother was pushing her emo kid to talk to me but he didn't

for gutting fish. it's interesting, and i like that there's one for kids(?)

teach them young. i believe it's good to teach children brutality in small amounts. farming, fishing, and so on. when you fully appreciate that the things which keep you alive are also alive, you are more likely to become a kind person. at least in my experience.

i went home after this. the beach was lovely but i kept getting distracted by ibises.
