ero-guro nansensu
What is the difference between ero and guro? I keep hearing about this but when I look it up I can't see the difference.

the term "ero" is short for "erotic". the term "guro" is short for "grotesque".
i'm sure you already know what these words mean.
there was an art movement called "ero-guro nonsense" starting all the way back in 30s japan which focused heavily on the contrast between the two, combining them in sick ways, and the idea of "ero-guro" (as in, the erotic and the grotesque in one) is still very popular.
however, you can have one without the other—"ero" art can be varying degrees of suggestive or graphic, and "guro" art basically refers to gore or generally gross art (vomiting etc.) you could think of.
i find this article's artwork far more erotic than grotesque. the mere presence of a scar results in no repulsion (but it gets my dick hard).
